The following is a list of current scholarships
sponsored by The Public Education Foundation.
The deadline for 2006 applications has passed and the selection process is underway. The 2006 recipients will be recognized at a scholarship luncheon at The Joint, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas.

Aaron Matusek Memorial Scholarship Clark County School District seniors with a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA who plan to attend a college or university in Nevada may apply. Financial need will be considered.

Academy for Mathematics, Science, and Applied Technology Scholarship Clark High School Academy for Mathematics, Science and Applied Technology (AMSAT) seniors who are interested in pursuing a degree in mathematics, science or applied technology at an accredited college or university may apply for this scholarship. A minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA is required and the student must have successfully completed the AMSAT Magnet Program.

Academy of Finance Scholarship This scholarship is available only to Clark High School Academy of Finance (AOF) seniors who are interested in pursuing a degree in business, economics, or finance at an accredited college or university. A minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA is required and the student must have successfully completed the AOF Magnet Program.

Adelson Family Scholarship Any CCSD senior who is a dependent of a Venetian Resort Hotel Casino employee and plans to attend an accredited college or university may apply for this scholarship. A minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA is required and the student must demonstrate financial need. THE APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO APRIL 7, 2006.

Adelson Scholarship Any CCSD senior who is interested in pursuing a career in the field of health services at an accredited college or university may apply for this scholarship. A minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA is required and students must demonstrate financial need.

Agustin C. Cano Memorial Scholarship Valley High School seniors who are interested in pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university may apply for this scholarship. A minimum 2.5 unweighted cumulative GPA required.

Alliance of Black Culinarians Scholarship CCSD seniors with a minimum 2.5 GPA may apply. Students must demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to minority students and those interested in a career in culinary arts. APPLICATION DEADLINE IS JUNE 9, 2006.

CCSD Board of School Trustees: Occupational Education Scholarship Any CCSD senior who has completed a minimum of two years of an established occupational education program may apply. A minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA is required. Applicants must plan to attend the Community College of Southern Nevada or the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as a full-time student.

CCSD School Counselors' Scholarship CCSD seniors who have met and overcome a serious personal challenge or adversity may apply for this scholarship. A minimum 2.5 unweighted GPA is required. Clark High School Tarkanian T.E.A.C.H. Scholarship Teacher Education Academy at Clark High School (T.E.A.C.H.) seniors who are interested in pursuing a degree in education at an accredited college or university may apply for this scholarship. A minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA is required and the student must be currently enrolled in the T.E.A.C.H. Educational Internship and Seminar Course.

Corbett-Porter Building Bridges Scholarship CCSD seniors who have worked to create a school environment free of discrimination, harassment and intolerance by building bridges between the gay/lesbian and straight communities may apply for this scholarship. Students must have a 2.5 minimum GPA and plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution. Financial need may be considered. Corporal Joseph Martinez U.S. Army Memorial Scholarship Durango High School ROTC program seniors who plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution either during or immediately following enlistment in any branch of the U.S. military may apply for this scholarship. Donald Franklin Bradley Memorial Scholarship CCSD seniors who plan to attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as a full-time student for a major related to photography may apply for this scholarship. A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (weighted or unweighted) is required. Students must also demonstrate financial need.

Edwin F. Wiegand Science & Technology Scholarship CCSD seniors interested in pursuing a degree in science, technology, computer science, or a related field at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas may apply for this scholarship. Priority will be given to students who have been involved with CyberCorps or the District’s InterAct™ Online Learning Community. Students must explain their career goal aspirations in the essay portion of this application and demonstrate financial need. A minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA is required.

Epicurean Club of Las Vegas Scholarship CCSD seniors who plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution as a full time student during the academic year following their graduation may apply for this scholarship. Applicants must major in Hotel/Hospitality Management or Food & Beverage programs. Other qualifications include demonstration of financial need and a cumulative GPA of 3.0. Fraser Family Scholarship The Fraser Family Scholarship is available only to Durango High School seniors who plan on attending an accredited college or university. A minimum 3.5 GPA is required.

Glazing Industry Scholarship High school seniors and post-secondary students in Nevada who are children or grandchildren of individuals who are actively participating in the glazing industry may apply. Applicants must have a desire to achieve excellence through education, plan to attend a post-secondary program for which they need the admissions requirements, and have a minimum 2.8 unweighted cumulative GPA.

Gordy Fink Memorial Scholarship Valley High School seniors who plan to attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as a full-time student beginning in the fall may apply for this scholarship. Students must describe their leadership roles and any community service involvement. Students are also asked to explain their career goals and aspirations. Financial need will be considered.

Gretchen Hauff Memorial Scholarship Any female, CCSD senior who is interested in pursuing a degree in physical education at an accredited college or university may apply. A minimum 2.5 unweighted cumulative GPA is required and students must demonstrate financial need.

Insuring Your Future Scholarship CCSD seniors who plan to pursue a degree in business and attend an accredited post-secondary program in Nevada may apply for this scholarship. A minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA is required and students must demonstrate financial need. Students must explain their career goals and aspirations.

International House of Blues Foundation Blues Ambassador Scholarship CCSD seniors who have demonstrated interest and achievement in the arts and/or shown leadership in encouraging understanding among people of diverse backgrounds may apply for this scholarship. A minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA is required and students must demonstrate financial need. Students must plan to attend an accredited institution of higher learning.

Jack Stansfield Memorial Scholarship CCSD seniors who plan to study business or accounting may apply for this scholarship. Applicants must have successfully completed Algebra I, Geometry, and at least one business course while earning a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.

JMA Architecture Studios Scholarship CCSD seniors interested in pursuing a career in architecture and plan to attend a university with an accredited School of Architecture may apply for this scholarship. Students must demonstrate financial need. Preferential consideration will be given to students who have participated in the Clark County School District's drafting program. A minimum 3.0 unweighted cumulative GPA is required.

John Caoile Memorial Scholarship Durango High School ROTC program seniors who plan to attend an accredited post secondary institution and have excelled in the areas of leadership, community service, and extra curricular activities may apply. Other requirements include a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Josef Princ Memorial Scholarship Male, CCSD seniors who are of European descent may apply. Other qualifications include maintaining a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA, demonstrating financial need and planning to attend an accredited post-secondary college or university majoring in engineering, mathematics or science.

Judith Warner Memorial Scholarship Rancho High school seniors who plan to attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as a full-time student beginning in the fall may apply for this scholarship. A minimum of a 2.5 cumulative GPA is required and you must demonstrate financial need. Students must explain their career goals aspirations.

KB HOME Discover Your Dream Scholarship CCSD seniors who plan to attend a college or an accredited post-secondary institution may apply for this scholarship. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required.

Knights of Pythias Scholarship CCSD seniors who plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution for which they meet entry level requirements may apply. Applicants must demonstrate experience in community service in order to apply.

Las Vegas Chinatown Scholarship CCSD senior of Asian descent with a 3.0 cumulative GPA and an interest in business may apply. Financial need will be considered.

Melissa A. Lyles Memorial Scholarship Durango High School seniors who have demonstrated academic achievement in a minimum of (11) eleven Honors or Advanced Placement courses may apply. Students must describe their participation in extracurricular activities, athletics, and leadership roles. A minimum of a 4.0-weighted cumulative GPA is required.

Michael J. Eggert Baseball Memorial Scholarship Active baseball players from Western High School who wish to attend an accredited college or university may apply for this scholarship. A 3.0 GPA is required.

Mickey Donnelly Memorial Scholarship CCSD seniors who attended Johnson Junior High School for a minimum of one (1) year and plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution in Nevada may apply for this scholarship. A minimum of a 2.5 unweighted cumulative GPA is required.

Nate Mack/Cindi Turner Scholarship CCSD seniors who have attended Nate Mack Elementary School for a minimum of three (3) years may apply for this scholarship. Student applicants must plan to attend an accredited college or university, have a 2.8 cumulative GPA and demonstrate financial need.

Nevada School Counselor Association Family Scholarship Nevada seniors who are children of a current member of the Nevada School Counselor Association may apply for this scholarship. Applicants are required to have a minimum 3.0 GPA and plan to attend an accredited post-secondary program.

Nick Giorgione Hope for Hearts Scholarship This scholarship is available to Clark County School District seniors with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and who are affected by a heart disease. Financial need may also be considered.

Harnedy Memorial Scholarship CCSD seniors who attend Canyon Springs, Cheyenne, Community College High School East, Mojave, Rancho, Jeffrey Academic Center - Credit Retrieval Program, Morris Academy - Credit Retrieval Programs and Sunset Programs may apply for this scholarship. Applicants are required to have a minimum 2.5 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and plan to attend an accredited post-secondary program.

Palo Verde High School - Barbara Edwards Memorial Scholarship Palo Verde High School seniors who have completed seven semesters of the same foreign language and demonstrate academic excellence may apply for this scholarship. Students must plan to attend an accredited college or university. A minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA is required.

Pardee Community Building Scholarship CCSD seniors who plan to attend a Nevada accredited college or university may apply for this scholarship. The student must demonstrate an interest in home building and community development. Areas of study include, but are not limited to, building, real estate, community designing, business planning, landscape design, property management, building and development, and architecture. A minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA is required.

Southern Nevada Floorcovering Association Excellence Through Education Scholarship CCSD seniors and post-secondary students in Nevada who are children or grandchildren of participating Southern Nevada Floorcovering Association (SNFA) members and their full-time employees may apply for this scholarship. Students must be nominated by a participating SNFA member in good standing and demonstrate their desires and motivation to achieve excellence through education. Applicants must plan to attend a post-secondary program for which they meet the entry-level requirements and have a minimum 2.8 unweighted cumulative GPA.

Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame Athletic Scholarship CCSD seniors who have participated in athletics for the past four years may apply for this scholarship. Students must describe their participation in athletics and leadership roles. A minimum of a 3.2 unweighted cumulative GPA is required.

Striving for Success Scholarship Mojave or Rancho High School special education seniors who plan to attend an accredited post-secondary program for which they meet entry level requirements may apply.

Susan Ayers Memorial Scholarship All CCSD seniors who have attended Estes McDoniel Elementary School and plan to attend an accredited post-secondary college or university may apply. A minimum 3.0 unweighted cumulative GPA is required.

Tall Awareness Scholarship CCSD seniors who will be attending a junior college, four-year college or university, and meet a minimum height requirement of 5'10" for female students and 6'2" for male students may apply. Selection will be based on academic achievement, volunteer work, school activities, and service to the community. All students chosen as semifinalists must be available for a personal interview with the scholarship committee and will be invited to attend the Tall Awareness Scholarship reception. Height verification will be made at the time of interview.

Travis Dunning Memorial Scholarship Green Valley, Coronado, Foothill, Silverado, and Liberty seniors who plan to attend a four-year college or university. Applicants must have a 3.0 weighted or unweighted GPA. Financial need will be considered.

Tsutako Curo Scholarship Any CCSD senior participating in a credit retrieval program and who is a single mother, desiring to advance her education at an accredited post-secondary institution to provide a better future for her family may apply. A minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA is required and the student must demonstrate financial need.
