IMPACT GRANTS
Educational Improvement IMPACT GRANTS represent the first grant
program offered by the Foundation. In 1992, 12 grants totaling $23,000
were awarded. IMPACT GRANTS continue to fund new strategies and
methodologies designed to motivate students and keep alive their
natural eagerness to learn. These innovative student-based ideas
must demonstrate measurable results and have the ability to be replicated
at other school campuses.
Members of the Public Education Foundation Grant Review Committee
are selected from the business and education community and from
the members of the Board of the Clark County Public Education Foundation.
The committe reviews and judges each grant application on the following:
Ability to provide an innovative solution to an important
education issue
Potential to significantly impact learning
Clarity
Evaluation design
Ability of the project to be replicated or adapted
After the awards are made and the grants are implemented:
A project audit is conducted by an Audit Team composed of
one member of the business community and one member from the education
community.
A final project report is required from the grant recipient.
At the end of each school year, Education Improvement IMPACT GRANT
applications and instructions are distributed district-wide by the
Clark County Public Education Foundation. An announcement is also
made in the spring and fall issues of the Clark County School District
HOTLINE.
